In a location surrounded by slender willow and elm trees, the catholicon of the old and unknown Monastery of Agios Varnavas in Louros was restored in 1833 by Konstantinos Papachristou and his son Dimitrios on the location of a byzantine monastery, founded in 1149 by Magister Konstantinos Maniakis and his parents.
